Overview
The Corporate Facilities Council, with nearly 4000 members, is the largest of IFMA's fifteen councils, which provide members the opportunity to interact with facility professionals in targeted areas of expertise. Other IFMA councils, such as Utilities and Academic Facilities, link with those in specific industries, but the CFC works to meet the needs of a broad base of professional members who perform in a corporate atmosphere. The mission of the council is to be the comprehensive network for knowledge and resource sharing for facility professionals responsible for headquarters, large campuses, and office environments
Individuals with these responsibilities are often in a unique political environment, and in a position to influence the facility policies of the entire organization. Our members work in financial services institutions, the radio and television industry, technology companies, associations, non-profit organizations--any type of office environment where the issues may be more diverse than those of the other IFMA councils.
Arguably the best feature of council membership is the communication via the listserver. Members post questions on every imaginable topic--security problems,
furniture selection, office supply inventory procedures, company policies--and within minutes receive scores of responses. Those seeking assistance have a vast resource of knowledge at their fingertips: thousands of members who understand and deal with similar issues.
The council publishes a quarterly newsletter, hosts monthly web-based educational sessions, and sponsors conferences throughout the program year. Membership in IFMA is a prerequisite for council membership. If you're a IFMA member and would like to join the council, you can sign-up online here. There is an annual dues charge of $55 which is in addition to your regular membership. If you're not a member of IFMA, please follow this link to join IFMA and the Corporate Facilities Council.
